Cloud ERP vs On-Premise ERP

Cloud and on-premise ERP should be compared on access, data control, internet dependency, backup, support, cost and internal IT capability. The best deployment model depends on how your teams work.

Cloud ERP advantages

Cloud ERP is easier for multiple locations, remote users, mobile teams and management dashboards. Hosting, backup and updates are usually simpler. It is suitable when branches, sites, factories or sales teams need access from outside the office.

On-premise ERP advantages

On-premise ERP gives more direct control over server infrastructure and internal network access. Some companies prefer it because of internal IT policies, plant connectivity or data control requirements.

Evaluate connectivity and support

Construction sites and factories may have uneven internet. The ERP plan should include backup internet, user roles, secure access and support arrangements. Cloud is powerful, but operations must not stop due to poor connectivity planning.

Compare total cost

Do not compare only server cost. Include hosting, AMC, backup, IT manpower, security, uptime, updates and disaster recovery. The cheaper model on paper may not be cheaper over three to five years.
