ERP Reporting and Dashboard Guide

ERP dashboards should convert daily transactions into useful management decisions. Reports must be accurate, timely and easy for owners, managers and department heads to understand.

Start with decision questions

Ask what management needs to decide daily: pending purchase, site stock, production delay, receivables, payables, project cost, order status, quality rejection or sales follow-up. Dashboard design should begin from these questions.

Avoid too many unused reports

A long report list is not useful if users trust only a few. Build critical reports first and verify them with actual transactions. Accuracy is more important than quantity.

Use role-wise dashboards

A store manager, project head, production supervisor, accounts manager and business owner need different views. Role-wise dashboards reduce confusion and make ERP adoption easier.

Review reports after go-live

Once users start entering live data, reports should be reviewed and refined. Missing filters, wrong grouping or required export formats should be corrected early.
